Try Dealroom →, the fastest-growing credit bureau in Mexico, for an enterprise value of $750 million. The deal expands Equifax into Latin America's second-largest economy.
What each side brings: Círculo de Crédito is the only Mexican bureau running both consumer and commercial credit services, with more than 1,700 bank, retail, fintech, and telecoms customers, and 2 billion tradelines covering 80 million validated identities. In return, Equifax offers its cloud-native platforms, patented EFX.AI technology, and fraud-prevention tools.
The numbers: Círculo de Crédito posted estimated revenue of $134 million for the 12 months to June 30, 2026 — up 31% — with $62 million in adjusted EBITDA. Equifax expects the deal to be accretive to adjusted earnings per share in the first full year of ownership.
Why now? Equifax is betting on financial inclusion. More than 25% of Mexicans lack access to formal financial products, and nearly 44% have no bank account, according to Equifax.
What's the endgame? Círculo de Crédito leads in alternative data — information outside traditional credit reports, such as gig-economy transactions and utility and telecoms payments. That data can extend credit to the more than 33 million Mexicans in informal employment.
What CEO Mark Begor says: The acquisition "marks an energizing new global chapter for both companies," said Mark BegorDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, calling it the company's "17th bolt-on acquisition in the past six years, totaling nearly $5 billion."
The signal: The deal fits a familiar Equifax playbook: reinvesting free cash flow into smaller bureaus and specialty data providers to deepen its international and alternative-data footprint. It also extends a Mexico strategy that began with Equifax's 2013 purchase of InffinixDealroom has a profile for this one.
