Who's involved? Connecticut Innovations, which has backed the Westport, Connecticut brand since its Series A, increased its position to lead the round. Rodriguez joined as an advisor and brand ambassador in October 2025.
What's the money for? Look Optic plans to expand into men's eyewear and sun products, and to push into retail. Its first brick-and-mortar store is set to open in New York City on November 1, 2026.
Why now? The raise marks a shift from a direct-to-consumer model toward an omnichannel business. The company had previously raised about $1.35 million across three rounds through early 2022, plus a separate working capital debt facility.
What they're saying: "The businesses I believe in share two things: a product worth standing behind and a leadership team that knows how to win," said Rodriguez, whose debut collaboration is available on Look Optic's site.
The signal: Investor appetite for vision-related categories has been steady, from clinical plays like AAVantgarde Bio's $141 million round to consumer brands. Look Optic's round is notable less for size than for the names behind it — and for a niche readers brand betting on physical retail as many DTC players do the same.
