ANV completes Iris Insurance Brokers deal to scale its UK platform

What's the deal? ANV Group HoldingsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has completed its acquisition of Iris Insurance BrokersDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a London-headquartered specialty insurance distribution platform. The transaction, first announced in March 2026, has cleared all required regulatory approvals. Terms were not disclosed.

What's the endgame? Iris operates across three segments: a Lloyd's wholesale brokerage, Blink Intermediary Solutions, and Vivid Underwriters. Together they give ANV scaled wholesale and retail distribution across the UK, direct access to Lloyd's specialty capacity, and a UK-based Managing General Agent (MGA) incubator.

Founded in 2000, Iris employs around 40 people across offices in London and Southend. Vivid, its incubator, complements ANV LaunchPad, the US-based incubator ANV launched in May 2026.

Why now? ANV is itself newly assembled, formed in 2025 following a strategic transaction between AmTrust Financial Services and Blackstone Credit & Insurance. The company operates across the US, UK, and Europe, bringing together a portfolio of specialist MGAs.

"Closing the Iris transaction marks an important step in scaling ANV's UK platform," said Adam Karkowsky, chairman and chief executive officer of ANV. He added that Vivid extends ANV's approach to launching MGAs "across both sides of the Atlantic."

Mark Hutley, managing director at Iris, said joining ANV "opens up the next phase of growth," giving the broker the environment to scale its Lloyd's brokerage and expand Blink's reach.

The signal: The deal fits a broader slowdown in UK insurance M&A, where larger consolidators have grown more selective. Rather than a volume-driven buying spree, it reads as a targeted play for distribution and MGA infrastructure — reinforcing ANV's push to build a specialty platform across three regions.
