Equinor completes $2.3B move to 10% stake in Ørsted

How was it priced? The deal was based on a volume-weighted average price of DKK 398.5 per share and a USD/DKK rate of 7.15. Equinor says the transaction sits within its financial framework and will have no material impact on earnings.

What's the endgame? Equinor frames the investment as part of its strategy of value-driven growth in renewables and confidence in offshore wind. Ørsted, a leading offshore wind developer, has net renewable generation capacity of about 10.4GW and targets 35-38GW by 2030.

What changes? Equinor says it will act as a supportive shareholder and will not seek board representation. The stake complements its existing offshore wind portfolio and adds exposure to operating assets.
