INVISION VII builds Ampition Group with two German switchgear deals

What's the deal? INVISION VII has acquired majority stakes in SENTEG GmbH and SEM Schalt- und Energietechnik GmbHDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, forming a new buy-and-build platform called Ampition Group in the market for medium- and low-voltage switchgear.

What do they do? SENTEG builds electrotechnical systems, focusing on custom solutions for energy distribution and infrastructure projects, and runs an asset-light model. SEM develops and manufactures switchgear and transformer station solutions for industrial and public energy infrastructure.

Why now? Both companies hold strong positions in the DACH region, serving a diversified customer base of industrial firms, utilities, and infrastructure operators. INVISION says the two complement each other along the value chain, forming Ampition's technological base.

What's the endgame? Ampition operates in a market shaped by rising electrification, growing investment in power grids, and heavy fragmentation. The platform aims to become a leading regional supplier in electrical infrastructure through organic growth and targeted acquisitions.

INVISION VII will support the group's expansion alongside its existing management teams.

The signal: The deal fits a broader pattern of private equity consolidation in DACH mid-market industrial and technical services. INVISION, a Swiss-German investor focused on succession and growth financing for SMEs, has favoured building platforms over standalone bets — echoing wider moves to assemble energy-related service groups as the energy transition drives demand.
