Bluefront takes 55% of robotics firm Meox in third Jaras-linked deal

What does Meox do? The Namsos-based company builds underwater robotic systems for aquaculture and maritime use, including net-cleaning robots, ROVs for inspection, and systems for dead fish retrieval and sludge handling. Its patented cavitation-based cleaning method uses pulsed air bubbles in water jets to strip biofouling while cutting wear on nets.
By the numbers: Meox employs 11 people and reported revenue of roughly NOK 44 million (€3.9 million) in 2025. It said it has grown revenue around 20% annually since inception while staying profitable.
What's the endgame? Meox says it leads the market for aquaculture cleaning robots in Chile and is gaining share in Norway. Managing director Kristian Kåre Hjertvik said the deal would fund expansion of its service and aftermarket operations, plus growth into Scotland and Canada.
Why now? Robotic net-cleaning tackles a core operational pain point for salmon farmers, reducing diver use and lice-related stress on fish. Automated, welfare-friendly cleaning aligns with rising industry demand.
Who's selling? Jaras Invest AS sold the majority stake and will remain Meox's second-largest shareholder.
