HC Global buys Benchstrength vCFO, launching hospitality accounting practice

What each side brings: HC Global provides fund administration, tax, and business solutions to fund managers and investment advisors. Benchstrength offers CFO support for start-up hotel management companies, USALI-compliant accounting, and supplemental accounting staffing — services that continue under HC Global Business Solutions – Hospitality.

Why it matters: Real estate funds operate on two levels — the fund vehicle, which needs administration, investor reporting, and tax compliance; and the underlying assets, which need property-level accounting. Managers historically needed two providers. HC Global now offers the full stack under one roof.

The hire: Benchstrength founder Warren Cruz joins as managing director to lead the practice. He brings more than 25 years in hospitality, having served as chief financial officer of Sightline HospitalityDealroom has a profile for this one. What's the endgame? "Our goal is to be the one-stop shop for real estate funds," said Roselle Polo, managing director at HC Global. The acquisition extends the firm from fund administration into property-level accounting across residential, office, retail, industrial, and now hospitality assets.

The signal: With more than 750 professionals across five US cities, Toronto, Mumbai, and Manila, HC Global is diversifying beyond traditional fund administration through bolt-on deals that add sector-specific practices — a bet that hospitality operators increasingly want outsourced finance under one platform.
