LinqAlpha raises $22M to build an AI "second brain" for public markets

What's the deal? New York-based startup LinqAlpha has raised $22 million in a Series A round to build what it calls the "Alpha Intelligence Layer" for global public markets.

The round was co-led by AVPDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, Atinum InvestmentDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, and GFT VenturesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, with a wide syndicate of financial institutions and venture platforms across the US, Europe, and Asia.

Founded by Jacob Choi, Subeen PangDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, Jin Kim, and Hojun ChoiDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, LinqAlpha lets institutional teams deploy specialised AI agents that learn each user's investment framework and surface market-moving signals before they are priced in.

More than 70 financial institutions already use the platform, including buy-side clients Causeway Capital ManagementDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and Schonfeld Strategic AdvisorsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, which collectively manage over $5 trillion in assets.

Why now? LinqAlpha argues that public markets have become too fast and interconnected for traditional research workflows.

A supply-chain disruption in Asia, a policy shift in Europe, and an earnings call can all feed the same thesis within hours. The hard part is no longer finding information; it is turning thousands of signals into judgement before consensus catches up.

"The first wave of AI in finance made analysts faster. The next wave changes what they can know," said co-chief executive officer Hojun ChoiDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →.

The signal: With co-lead AVP being a corporate investor and much of the syndicate drawn from strategic financial institutions, LinqAlpha's early-stage cap table looks less like a typical venture bet and more like a distribution play — the buy-side firms that could become customers are also backing the company that wants to sit inside their research workflows.
