Eiffel invested €4.1 million for a 4.05% stake, becoming a shareholder through a capital increase and the purchase of shares from company executives.
The board approved the capital increase on June 25, issuing 690,237 shares at €3.96 each, fully subscribed by Eiffel. The aim is to fund the company's growth plans.
Separately, four ByteTravel executives — including president and chief executive officer Axel SerenaDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → — plus one non-executive shareholder sold Eiffel another 551,075 shares at €2.48 each.
Why now? The deal lands just ahead of ByteTravel's leap to BME Growth on Friday, July 3.
The company has traded on BME Scaleup since July 2024 and is moving to Spain's main alternative market in search of greater liquidity for its shares. It closed on June 30 at €4.32, valuing it at €129.5 million.
What could go wrong? ByteTravel grew first-quarter 2026 revenue 51%, to €7.31 million. But operating profit was just €30,000 — down 93% from a year earlier — squeezed by heavy spending on marketing to win and keep customers.
The signal: As a breakout-stage company already public on BME Scaleup, ByteTravel's leap to BME Growth alongside Eiffel Investment Group's entry shows how smaller European scaleups are using alternative markets as a stepping stone to land their first institutional backers and fund expansion.
