Brazil's Digital Grid lands R$2.1M grant to scale solar AI

What's the deal? Digital Grid, a Brazilian solar energy startup, has secured a R$2.1 million (about $405,000) grant from FAPEMIGDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, the research support foundation of the state of Minas Gerais.

The money will fund its "Smart Allocation" engine, which uses predictive AI to manage energy credits for distributed generation plants.

Small and mid-sized plants lose an average of 20% of monthly revenue to regulatory and operational complexity. Digital Grid's SaaS platform automates credit reading, invoicing, payments, and customer communication, cutting time spent on those tasks by up to 70%.

Why now? The grant came through FAPEMIG's "Deep Tech" public call, aimed at market insertion and commercial traction.

Chief executive officer and founder Renan Nominato said the approval validates the technology at TRL 8, meaning it is ready to scale.

"The focus of this investment is to ensure our energy management AI reaches players with the robustness needed to transform the financial efficiency of associations, consortia, cooperatives, and distributed generation plants across the country," he said.

The signal: Dealroom classifies Digital Grid as a breakout-stage company, a label that fits a startup processing more than 800,000 invoices across 22 states and growing 180% a year. With a non-dilutive grant from FAPEMIGDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → backing a SaaS engine already validated at TRL 8, the round shows how Brazil's distributed-generation boom is opening a market for financial-automation software rather than hardware alone.
