The early VC raise smashed its €150,000 minimum, hitting overfunding within the first 24 hours.

Founded by nutritionist and university lecturer Chiara Manzi with manager Danilo Pertosa, the company sells certified "longevity food" through an app, an e-commerce shop, and its LibraDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → restaurant in Bologna.

Why now? The firm is chasing a fast-growing market with no clear leader.

The global wellness economy is worth $6.3 trillion and is projected to reach $9 trillion by 2028, per the Global Wellness Institute. The health and wellness foods segment alone could nearly double to $1,596 billion by 2030.

Antiaging Italian Food already claims a track record: over €800,000 raised across two prior rounds, more than €1.8 million in total revenue, and break-even reached in December 2024.

Fresh capital will fund marketing (30%), technology (25%), organisation (25%), and new venues (20%) — including a franchise network of "longevity pizzerias" built with Green Pizza founder Giampaolo Nalin. The first opens in Padua.

What could go wrong? Crowdfunding momentum does not guarantee staying power, and scaling a franchise model brings operational risk.

The "longevity food" niche remains unproven at scale, and a first-mover edge can erode quickly once larger players enter.

The signal: Antiaging Italian Food's repeated overfunding on Opstart — Italy's equity crowdfunding platform — shows how an early-stage SME can finance growth from the bottom up rather than chasing institutional rounds. Having reached break-even and built a community of more than two million weekly contacts, the company is betting that grassroots backing can carry it into a still-leaderless European longevity food market.
