NinetyTwo X buys 20% of freestyle rap firm Urban Roosters for up to €3M

What's the deal? Spanish investment firm NinetyTwo X has taken a roughly 20% stake in Urban Roosters, the company behind the Freestyle Master Series (FMS) rap battle competition.

The early-stage round injects up to €3 million into the business.

Urban Roosters, cofounded by Asier Fernández and Pedro Henrique, will use the funds to expand in Brazil, the UK, and the US.

Why now? The company is already profitable. It closed its last season with €5.6 million in revenue and expects to grow that by around 25%, to over €7 million, next year.

The cash injection comes as competitive freestyle rap builds a global audience, giving Urban Roosters room to scale beyond its core markets.

As part of the deal, Jordi Mora Esteve and Dídac Lee join the company's board.

What could go wrong? Expanding into Brazil, the UK, and the US means competing in unfamiliar markets with different tastes and rivals.

Scaling a live-events business across continents is costly, and €3 million may stretch thin across three new regions.

The signal: NinetyTwo X, a corporate investor, is betting that niche entertainment formats like freestyle rap can become global commercial properties, mirroring its existing stake in French football club Le Mans FCDealroom has a profile for this one.
