Polish space firm Scanway raises $16M to scale up production

What's the deal? ScanwayDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Polish space company, has raised 60,600,000 PLN (≈$16M) in an accelerated bookbuild (ABB) to scale its operations.

The offer drew strong investor demand, with the bid book covered several times over.

Shares were priced at 290.00 PLN, with the full offer — including stock sold by board members — reaching 76,400,000 PLN. The process closed on June 29, 2026.

Why now? The raise follows Scanway's move to the main market of the Warsaw Stock Exchange, marking its first offering there.

It says demand for its products is growing faster than its 2026–2028 strategy assumed, and it now sees a pipeline worth 500–700 million PLN.

Roughly 30% of the funds will go to scaling production and next-generation very high resolution (VHR) telescopes, imaging at 0.5m per pixel from low Earth orbit.

Another 20% targets defence, dual-use, and Data-as-a-Service products, where it reports rising interest in space situational awareness and on-orbit satellite servicing.

What could go wrong? Long delivery cycles on constellation projects tie up working capital, prompting the firm to set aside 20% of proceeds for that purpose.

Expansion into the US and other foreign markets also brings hiring and execution risks.

The signal: Scanway's move to the main market of the Warsaw Stock Exchange — and its emergence as the third space company on the Polish exchange — marks a milestone for the breakout-stage maker of optical payloads and camera systems, signalling that European institutional investors are warming to a sector long dominated by US players.
