Solstar builds communications infrastructure for the emerging space economy, aiming to keep spacecraft, operators, and future space-based systems connected.

To fund the deal, Encore plans a concurrent non-brokered private placement of up to C$1.4 million at C$0.26 per share. The financing is a condition of the investment.

Why now? Solstar's Deke Space Communicator is operating on-orbit aboard the MomentusDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → Vigoride 7 mission, launched by a SpaceX Falcon 9 in March 2026.

NASA, DARPA, and a commercial space data centre operator are all using the Deke service on that mission — a commercial milestone Encore wants exposure to.

Encore believes the next 24 months will be critical to Solstar's evolution into a foundational communications platform.

What could go wrong? The investment hinges on Encore completing its financing and signing definitive documentation, so the deal is not yet final.

A convertible loan also leaves Encore's return tied to Solstar reaching commercial deployment, which is still ahead.

The signal: Solstar, still an early-stage company, sits in the commercial space-based connectivity niche where on-orbit demand from agencies like NASA and DARPA is pulling startups toward commercial deployment. Encore's convertible loan is a corporate bet that securing exposure now — ahead of that 24-month window — is cheaper than building the infrastructure itself.
