Assort Health raises $120M Series C led by Menlo Ventures at $1.2B valuation

What's the deal? Assort Health has raised a $120 million Series C round led by Menlo Ventures, lifting its valuation to $1.2 billion.

The San Francisco startup builds AI agents that handle the patient journey, from scheduling to payments. It has now raised over $222 million in total.

Why now? US healthcare providers spend nearly double on administration as they do on direct care, costing an estimated $1.1 trillion a year.

Assort started with a voice AI agent for booking specialty appointments. It now also covers intake forms, document processing, medication refills, lab requests, and payments.

Revenue has grown 20-fold in the past 15 months, the company said.

Its proprietary model, Synapse, learns from more than 190 million patient interactions and simulates edge cases across specialty workflows.

What could go wrong? The healthcare AI market is crowded with point solutions, and Assort is betting on a single, unified platform instead.

Mishandled patient communications carry real risk. As Jon Shaker, executive director at the Boston Bone and Joint Institute, noted, trust during a first interaction can determine whether a provider keeps or loses a patient.

The signal: Menlo Ventures, the investment fund leading the round, is backing Assort Health at a late-stage moment, betting that its 190 million-interaction dataset can defend a unified platform against the wave of point solutions chasing healthcare's $1.1 trillion administrative burden.
