Why now? The company plans to scale Viewer, its flagship product, while building a stronger impact and ESG framework into its growth strategy.
Viewer uses image analysis and proprietary AI models to track crop productivity, vitality, and health at the level of individual plants. It connects to spraying machines to optimise pesticide use, cutting waste by up to 40%.
"Agriculture is entering a period of major transformation," said Nikos Mylonas, chief executive officer and co-founder. Growers must raise efficiency, reduce inputs, tackle labour shortages, and adapt to mounting environmental and market pressures, he added.
What could go wrong? EdenCore targets specialty crops, a niche segment. Scaling internationally means proving its AI works across varied climates and farming systems.
The signal: Backed by an impact-focused investment fund in Investing For Purpose, EdenCore's seed extension reflects how early-stage agritech is increasingly judged on measurable environmental outcomes alongside commercial growth. For a company still at the early stage and targeting specialty crops, embedding an ESG framework into its scaling strategy is as much about attracting capital as it is about winning over growers.
