UBDS Group secures growth equity investment from LDC

What's the deal? UBDS Group, a London-based digital lifecycle and cybersecurity consultancy, has secured growth equity investment from LDCDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, the private equity arm of Lloyds Banking Group.

LDC's Reading team led the deal, announced in June 2026. It backs UBDS Group's management, led by chief executive Alex Gore.

Founded in 2019 by Diptesh Patel, UBDS Group provides cloud adoption, cybersecurity, data, and AI services to public and private sector clients. It employs around 300 people across London, Manchester, and Bengaluru.

Why now? The business has grown fast. Headcount has risen fivefold since 2022, and revenue jumped almost 150% over three years.

Two 2024 acquisitions fuelled that momentum: RayoDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, an AWS consultancy, and 3B Data Security, a cybersecurity firm.

LDC's investment funds the next phase: a mix of organic growth and targeted acquisitions to add capabilities and reach.

The deal also reshuffles leadership. Founder Patel is moving to a non-executive director role, and Peter Sweetbaum joins as chair.

LDC partners Aylesh Patel and Chris Baker will join the board as non-executive directors.

The signal: LDC, the investment fund arm of Lloyds Banking Group, is doubling down on a consultancy that has already proven its appetite for dealmaking with two acquisitions in 2024. With headcount up fivefold since 2022 and revenue rising almost 150% over three years, UBDS Group fits the profile of a mid-market firm using private equity backing to consolidate fast in the digital transformation and cybersecurity space.
