Why now? Carvolix needs cash. It estimates current resources will fund operations only until the end of September 2026.
The company develops AI-driven mini-robots and biomimetic implants for interventional cardiology and stroke treatment. It is racing toward key regulatory milestones, including FDA clearance for its Tavipilot robot.
Most of the new money goes to product development: 30% to Tavipilot, 23% to Kalios, 21% to Artus, 19% to Artedrone, and 7% to Mitrapilot. A further €2.5 million repays a bridge loan from Truffle Capital.
What could go wrong? The cash runway remains short. Carvolix is negotiating a venture debt facility of roughly €25 million with several European funds to extend it beyond 12 months.
But there is no guarantee. The company warns that without further financing, it may lack the resources to operate for at least a year — a material risk to the business.
The signal: The fact that backers include strategic corporate investor Edwards Lifesciences — a global leader in heart valve and critical-care technology — alongside Truffle Capital underscores that this is a conviction bet on Carvolix's robotic cardiology platforms rather than a purely financial bridge. Yet with Truffle's bridge loan being partly repaid from the same round, the capital structure shows how clinical-stage medtechs juggle competing demands on every euro raised.
