BodyCraft raises Rs 120 crore Series A from Singularity AMC
What's the deal? Bodycraft Clinic and Salon, an integrated beauty, wellness, and medical aesthetics platform, has raised Rs 120 crore (≈$12.7 million) in Series A funding.
The round came entirely from Singularity AMCDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Mumbai-based private equity firm focused on growth-stage and pre-IPO investments in India.
Kolkata-based Bodycraft will use the capital to open 30 new outlets, on top of the 67 clinics and salons it already runs nationwide.
Why now? India's beauty and wellness market is booming, and Bodycraft wants capital to scale before rivals do.
Industry estimates put India's clinical aesthetic market at roughly $2 billion in 2024, growing to more than $7 billion by 2033. The broader beauty and personal care market could expand from about $27 billion in FY25 to nearly $39 billion by FY30.
Rising incomes and growing demand for specialised treatments are driving the surge.
What could go wrong? Rapid expansion strains management and operations, and Bodycraft is adding nearly half as many outlets as it currently has.
The company plans to invest in clinical technology, training, and AI to improve efficiency, but a fast-growing market also draws fierce competition.
The signal: Investors are betting big on organised, outcome-first players in India's fragmented beauty and aesthetics sector.
"Our ambition is to create the most trusted destination for beauty, wellness and medical aesthetic services in India," said chief executive officer Sahil Gupta.
As incomes rise and consumers spend more on wellness, expect more capital to flow into clinics blending salon services with medical aesthetics.
