Data Alliance raises 3 billion KRW for distributed GPU cloud, joins DIPS AI track

What's the deal? Korean deeptech startup Data AllianceDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has raised 3,000,000,000 KRW (around $1.95 million) in an early-stage round, at a valuation of 23.5 billion KRW.

It was also selected for the AI track of the Initiative for Powerful Startups (DIPS), run by South Korea's Ministry of SMEs and StartupsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →.

Why now? The funding follows a string of recognition for the company's distributed GPU cloud platform, gcube.

Data Alliance won an AI innovation award at CES 2026, plus prizes at the Global AI Impact Awards and World IT Show 2026. It has passed 2.75 billion KRW in cumulative revenue.

gcube combines distributed systems with a sharing-economy model to offer virtual GPU access. The company claims it cuts costs up to 90% versus centralised big-tech clouds.

It also says its RTX 5090-based setup delivers up to 34% better inference performance than the A100.

What could go wrong? The GPU cloud market is dominated by deep-pocketed incumbents, and a $1.95 million round is modest against that backdrop.

Distributed, shared-resource infrastructure must also prove it can match centralised providers on reliability and security to win enterprise trust.

The signal: Government backing through the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' AI track, alongside research tie-ups with bodies such as the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute, signals that South Korea sees domestic compute infrastructure as strategically important. For an early-stage company like Data Alliance, that institutional support — plus patents in eight countries — matters more than the modest cheque size as it tries to take its shared GPU model global.
