The deal, announced in June 2026, will fund deeper franchisee support, new markets, and digital marketing to build national brand awareness. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Founded in 2007, Woof Gang offers salon-style grooming and curated pet retail across a franchise network spanning 36 states.
It now counts more than 450 locations open or under development — more than double its footprint since 2022.
Why now? Woof Gang has doubled in size in four years and sees a long runway ahead.
"We believe we are still in the early innings of expanding Woof Gang to serve pet parents across North America," said chief executive officer Ricardo Azevedo.
Garnett Station, which first backed the company in 2022, stays on to accelerate momentum.
What could go wrong? Franchise expansion hinges on recruiting and training operators who can maintain quality and unit-level returns at scale.
Rapid store growth across new markets raises the risk of stretching the support infrastructure thin.
The signal: Great Hill is backing a late-stage, cash-generative franchise rather than an early-stage bet, wagering that a proven model — with some of the strongest unit-level returns in the category — is the surest route to a national pet services brand. With Garnett Station staying on since its 2022 entry, Woof Gang now has two investment funds aligned behind a multi-year store rollout.
