Mitigata raises $15M Series B led by Bessemer
What's the deal? Cyber risk and insurance startup Mitigata has raised $15 million (about ₹141 crore) in a Series B round led by Bessemer Venture Partners.
Existing investors Nexus Venture Partners, Titan CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, and WEH VenturesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → also joined.
Founded in 2023, Bengaluru-based Mitigata is a full-stack cyber resilience platform combining AI-powered security operations, risk intelligence, compliance automation, digital forensics, and cyber insurance in one place.
It claims to be India's first Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI)-regulated broker focused solely on cyber insurance.
The startup will use the capital to expand internationally, upgrade its AI tech, and scale its Security Operations Centre (SOC) — which it wants to make India's largest. It also plans to double its team.
Why now? Cybersecurity is entering an "AI-first era," said cofounder and chief executive officer Mohit AnandDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →.
Concerns over AI's role in security have intensified. AnthropicDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → recently restricted access to its Claude Mythos model — built to detect software flaws — over fears it could be misused to find vulnerabilities.
India's markets regulator SEBI also formed a task force, cyber-suraksha.ai, to assess risks posed by Mythos.
Mitigata reported 12X year-on-year growth and triaged more than one million security incidents over the past year. It serves over 800 organisations across banking, healthcare, manufacturing, automotive, and e-commerce.
What could go wrong? The same AI tools that power detection can be weaponised, as the Mythos worries show.
Mitigata is also stepping into a crowded global market, where international expansion brings new regulatory and competitive hurdles.
The signal: Backing from Bessemer Venture Partners — alongside returning investors Nexus, Titan Capital, and WEH Ventures — pushes Mitigata into breakout-stage territory just two years after its 2023 founding. The bet reflects growing investor conviction that AI-native cyber resilience, bundling insurance with security operations, can scale from India to global markets.
