It follows L Catterton's funding of Remedy, another brand built on founder expertise — in that case, dermatologist Muneeb Shah. The firm believes brands rooted in founder authority hold a durable edge.
"We have been in pursuit of businesses with extraordinary founders that bring legitimacy to the brand formulation and conviction to the consumer," says Courtney Nelson, managing director at L Catterton.
What could go wrong? Rōz's 11-product assortment leans heavily on its hero, Milk Hair Serum, which is the first purchase for 46% of new customers.
That concentration carries risk if a single product loses momentum. Core items are priced from $32 to $52, with sales split evenly between direct-to-consumer and retail.
