Why now? Brain-computer interfaces have surged into the spotlight globally, driven by Neuralink's first human implants and growing clinical evidence that invasive BCIs can restore communication and motor function. China has been ramping up its own neurotechnology ambitions, with government-backed brain science initiatives and increasing venture interest in the sector.

CoreVision's focus on invasive — as opposed to non-invasive — BCI technology puts it at the higher-risk, higher-reward end of the spectrum, where signal quality is far superior but regulatory and surgical hurdles are steeper.

What could go wrong? Invasive BCIs face significant challenges: lengthy regulatory approval timelines, the complexity of implant surgery, and long-term biocompatibility concerns.
