ContraVault AI raises $3.1M pre-Series A led by Chiratae Ventures

What's the deal? Bengaluru-based ContraVault AIDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has raised $3.1M in a pre-Series A round led by Chiratae VenturesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, with participation from existing investor Titan Capital Winners Fund. The startup builds an AI-powered platform that helps infrastructure and enterprise companies analyse tenders, assess risks, and streamline bidding decisions.

Founded in 2024 by Sayan Sen, Isha Juneja, and Tanmay Juneja, ContraVault AI targets a procurement segment still heavily reliant on manual workflows — despite the scale of public and private infrastructure spending globally.

The fresh capital will fund product development, stronger AI capabilities, and expansion into international markets, particularly the US.

Why now? Procurement and bid management for large infrastructure projects remain stubbornly analogue. ContraVault AI says its platform has already analysed more than one million tenders as part of its training dataset and is used by some of India's largest infrastructure companies.

The startup has expanded beyond tender analysis into a broader bid management platform serving infrastructure, construction, and energy firms — helping them discover opportunities, evaluate documents, flag compliance risks, and speed up go/no-go decisions.

What could go wrong? The platform's value depends on the accuracy of its domain-specific large language models (LLMs). Errors in risk assessment or compliance flagging on high-value infrastructure bids could erode trust quickly. Expanding into the US market also means competing against established procurement software vendors with deeper pockets and entrenched customer relationships.

The signal: Chiratae Ventures, one of India's longest-running venture funds (formerly IDG Ventures India), leading this pre-Series A suggests growing institutional conviction that vertical AI applied to heavy industries can scale beyond domestic markets. ContraVault AI is still early stage, but its bet — that procurement in infrastructure is too manual and too high-stakes to stay untouched by AI — mirrors a broader wave of enterprise AI startups targeting overlooked, document-heavy workflows where accuracy directly affects the bottom line.
