Mendo raises €13.4M Series A to scale enterprise AI adoption in Europe
What's the deal? Mendo, a Paris-based startup that helps enterprises adopt generative and agentic AI, has raised €12M in Series A funding. The round was co-led by VentechDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and EducapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, with participation from Tomcat and OVNI.
Founded in 2021, Mendo builds a platform that bridges the gap between AI tools and the people expected to use them. It helps organisations identify practical AI use cases, drive adoption across teams, and turn AI investments into measurable business outcomes.
The fresh capital will go toward three priorities: strengthening analytics capabilities, doubling headcount from 50 to 100 employees across product, engineering, and sales, and expanding into key European markets.
Why now? Despite heavy corporate investment in AI, many organisations still struggle to move beyond experimentation. The rise of agentic AI — where autonomous agents handle complex tasks across business functions — is making adoption support even more critical.
"With agentics, AI changes status: it is no longer a tool that saves you a few hours a week, it becomes the layer that orchestrates and governs all of a company's operations," said Quentin Amaudry, chief executive officer and co-founder. "No company will pull off this transition without bringing its people along."
What could go wrong? Mendo operates in a crowded space. As AI adoption consulting and tooling attract more players, differentiation becomes harder. The company also faces the challenge of proving its platform delivers results consistently — it claims adoption rates up to six times higher than traditional approaches, but scaling that across diverse industries and markets is no small feat.
There's also the risk that large AI vendors like Microsoft and Google build adoption and change-management features directly into their own platforms, squeezing out middleware players.
The signal: Educapital's co-lead here is notable — the fund typically focuses on education and workforce transformation, underscoring that enterprise AI adoption is increasingly being framed as a people and skills challenge rather than a purely technical one. With Mendo still at the early stage according to Dealroom, this €12M Series A is a meaningful bet that the "adoption layer" for AI will become a durable category in its own right, not just a transitional need that fades as tools mature.
