Founded by Chris George, QubeHealth-Pay lets users pay medical expenses across hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, and diagnostic centres without network restrictions. It also offers cashback rewards and healthcare financing for costs not covered by insurance.

Why now? The company has built meaningful traction. More than 200,000 families and over 700,000 individuals use the platform, accessing the app 9.3 times a month on average for healthcare-related payments.

QubeHealth-Pay processed Rs 100 crore in healthcare payments during FY26 and says it is on track to cross Rs 240 crore in FY27. It aims to surpass $1B in payment volume by FY30.

The startup has partnered with over 15,000 healthcare providers across diagnostics, dental care, eye care, dermatology, and mental health. Enterprise clients include Walmart India, Flipkart, Tata Teleservices, Equitas Small Finance Bank, and Omnicom Group.

What could go wrong? Healthcare payments is a crowded space in India, with UPI-based apps and insurance platforms competing for the same wallet. Scaling internationally — the company plans to expand into the Middle East and Southeast Asia — brings regulatory complexity and the challenge of replicating a network-dependent model in unfamiliar markets.

The undisclosed round size also makes it hard to judge how much runway the company actually has to fund its ambitious growth targets.

The signal: Healthcare fintech is carving out a distinct niche within India's broader digital payments boom. As out-of-pocket medical spending remains high and insurance coverage patchy, platforms that bridge the gap between patients and providers stand to capture significant transaction volume. QubeHealth-Pay's Series A — following a pre-Series A from Unicorn India Ventures and CanBank Venture Capital Fund in November — suggests investor confidence that vertical fintech plays in healthcare can build durable, high-frequency businesses.
