Innoseis raises €6M seed to scale ultrasensitive MEMS sensors

What's the deal? InnoseisDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → Sensor Technologies, an Amsterdam-based deep-tech startup, has secured €6M in seed funding to commercialise its ultrasensitive MEMS sensor technology. Founded by two researchers from NikhefDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, the Dutch national institute for subatomic physics, Innoseis makes sensors that detect extremely small vibrations and movements. The company says it is the first to achieve this level of performance at such a compact size.

The capital will go towards expanding international sales and marketing, streamlining production, and further developing the sensor platform.

Why now? Innoseis' founding team previously helped build a leading position in the seismic sensor market. Forward.one believes the MEMS opportunity is substantially larger, spanning geophysics, navigation, and space systems — all sectors with growing demand for precision sensing.

What could go wrong? Deep-tech hardware startups face long commercialisation timelines and the challenge of scaling production while maintaining performance. Breaking into markets like space and navigation means competing with entrenched incumbents and navigating complex certification processes.

The signal: The round reflects sustained investor appetite for European deep-tech, particularly sensor and semiconductor-adjacent companies that can serve multiple high-value verticals. As industries from defence to space exploration demand ever-smaller, ever-more-sensitive components, startups like Innoseis sit at the intersection of academic research and industrial scale — exactly where venture capital sees outsized returns.
