Spotless Water secures £6.35M led by YFM Equity Partners to scale UK pure-water network

What's the deal? Spotless Water, the company behind the UK's only national network of self-service pure water filling stations, has secured £6.35M in follow-on equity investment led by YFM Equity PartnersDealroom has a profile for this one. Founded in 2016, Spotless Water operates 165 sites across the UK, running 24/7 and supporting more than 22,000 weekly refills. The network has dispensed over 600 million litres of pure water to date.

The company serves window cleaners, vehicle detailers, and maintenance professionals who need zero-TDS water — free of dissolved solids — to work without streaks, spots, or chemical detergents. Rather than forcing customers to buy expensive on-site purification equipment, Spotless Water installs fully managed filling stations inside existing retail or fuel forecourt locations such as MorrisonsDealroom has a profile for this one. Why now? Spotless Water is entering what it calls its most ambitious growth phase. The investment will fund new station rollouts and expand existing concession partnerships to bring pure water access to more locations nationwide.

The company has also appointed Luca Contardo as chief financial officer. Contardo previously helped scale 23 Degrees Coffee and will support the next phase of growth.

What could go wrong? The concession model depends on maintaining and expanding relationships with large retail and fuel partners. Any shift in those partnerships — or a competitor replicating the network approach — could slow momentum. Scaling a physical infrastructure network also carries execution risk: each new site requires installation, maintenance, and local demand.

The signal: YFM Equity Partners' decision to lead a follow-on round into an early growth-stage company suggests the unit economics of Spotless Water's concession model are proving out — repeat capital from an existing investor typically signals confidence in the path to scale. With 165 sites and 22,000 weekly refills already in place, the network's value compounds with each new location, creating a distribution moat that mirrors the playbook of EV charging and parcel locker operators: embed infrastructure where footfall already exists.
