Park Systems secures $72M in strategic financing to expand production capacity

What's the deal? Park SystemsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → Corp., a South Korean nanometrology firm listed on KOSDAQ, has secured KRW 100 billion (roughly $72M) through perpetual bonds with warrants. Kiwoom SecuritiesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and Dominus Investment Management each subscribed KRW 50 billion.

The proceeds will fund production capacity expansion as demand for precision measurement tools grows across the semiconductor and advanced materials industries. The bonds carry 0% interest for the first three years, with a step-up structure thereafter. Warrants are exercisable from June 2027 to May 2056 at KRW 267,747 per share.

Why now? Semiconductor process nodes keep shrinking and advanced packaging architectures are growing more complex. That makes sub-nanometer surface metrology — Park Systems' speciality — increasingly critical across chip manufacturing.

The company reported consolidated revenue of KRW 205.6 billion in 2025 and serves major chipmakers and research institutions in more than 30 countries. "This financing reflects the company's commitment to scaling its manufacturing infrastructure in alignment with increasing market demand," said Karen Cho, senior executive vice president at Park Systems.

What could go wrong? The perpetual bond structure gives Park Systems favourable terms upfront, but the step-up interest mechanism means costs will rise over time if it doesn't exercise its call option. The company can repurchase up to 20% of the bonds at par between June 2027 and June 2029 — a narrow window.

There's also the question of execution. Scaling manufacturing for nanoscale precision instruments is technically demanding, and the semiconductor industry is cyclical. A downturn could dampen the demand Park Systems is betting on.

Founded by Dr Sang-il Park, who contributed to the invention of atomic force microscopy at Stanford University, the company has built a diversified technology portfolio spanning AFM, white light interferometry, digital holographic microscopy, and more. Its global footprint — with offices across the Americas, Europe, and Asia — positions it to capture growth as nanotechnology applications expand beyond semiconductors into materials science and industrial research.

The signal: Dealroom classifies Park Systems as a "breakout" company, and the investor mix here — a corporate backer in Kiwoom Securities alongside Dominus Investment, an investment fund — suggests confidence from both strategic and financial capital that nanometrology is entering a higher-growth phase. As chipmakers push to ever-smaller nodes and more complex 3D packaging, the metrology layer of the semiconductor supply chain is becoming a capital magnet in its own right.
