Enrission India Capital backs Recur Club's Series A extension

What's the deal? Kyoto-based venture firm Enrission India CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has invested in Recur Club, an Indian fintech startup that uses AI to match small businesses and startups with debt financing. The investment, made through Enrission's WI25 India fund, is part of Recur Club's Series A extension round. No financial details were disclosed.

Recur Club, formally known as Founderlink Technologies, was founded in 2021 in Haryana, India, by two Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) alumni. It operates a platform that automates credit underwriting and connects borrowers with suitable lenders — cutting what typically takes three months down to as few as five days.

Why now? India's debt financing market is expanding rapidly as new startups proliferate, but information asymmetry makes the lending process painfully slow. Borrowers struggle to identify the right financial institutions, while lenders lack quick access to the data they need for credit assessments.

Recur Club's AI tackles this by automatically collecting and organising data from multiple sources — company websites, transaction records, and more. It analyses not just financial metrics but also customer concentration, churn rates, and even founder quality to produce faster, more accurate underwriting.

What could go wrong? AI-driven credit assessment is only as good as the data it ingests. In India's fragmented SME landscape, data quality and availability remain inconsistent. Regulatory shifts in India's fast-evolving fintech sector could also create headwinds.

Cross-border investing adds another layer of complexity. Enrission India Capital, founded just in 2024, is still a young firm — and bridging the Japan-India startup corridor requires deep local networks on both sides.

The signal: Recur Club has reached "breakout" stage according to Dealroom, suggesting its AI-driven debt matching model is gaining meaningful traction as Indian startups increasingly seek non-dilutive financing. Enrission India Capital's strategy of maintaining offices inside IIT campuses gives it unusually early access to technically strong founding teams — a niche approach that sets it apart from larger foreign investors competing for Indian deal flow.
