Aether Network raises $2.1M for decentralised AI infrastructure

What's the deal? Aether Network, a Singapore-based decentralised physical infrastructure network (DePIN) focused on artificial intelligence, has closed a $2.1 million private funding round. The round drew backing from 0Venture, ERC20 Capital, Coin Ventures, Launchpad_TON, TONchainCapital, and Dubai Blockchain Lab.

The funds will go toward scaling GPU-as-a-service capabilities for enterprise AI workloads, launching developer tooling such as SDKs and AI agents, and expanding into the TON ecosystem tied to Telegram's web3 infrastructure.

Separately, Token Terminal — a blockchain analytics provider — has partnered with Aether Network to integrate its modular infrastructure, including cross-chain bridge systems and interoperability modules.

Why now? Demand for decentralised AI compute is surging as companies seek alternatives to centralised cloud providers. The TON ecosystem, linked to Telegram's massive user base, has become an increasingly attractive distribution channel for web3 projects — making Aether's push there well-timed.

"Aether Network's approach to decentralized AI infrastructure addresses a critical bottleneck in the current technology cycle," a representative from 0Venture said.

What could go wrong? DePIN remains a nascent and largely unproven category. Converting decentralised GPU infrastructure into reliable, enterprise-grade compute is technically challenging and capital-intensive. The project also faces stiff competition from better-funded rivals in both the AI compute and DePIN spaces.

A $2.1 million raise is modest by current standards, which could limit the speed at which Aether Network can scale its ambitions across multiple fronts — from AI tooling to TON integration to cross-chain analytics.

The signal: This deal sits at the intersection of two of crypto's hottest narratives: DePIN and AI infrastructure. A growing number of startups are betting that decentralised networks can offer cheaper, more accessible compute for AI workloads — a thesis investors are increasingly willing to fund, even at early stages.

The involvement of TON-focused investors also signals continued momentum for Telegram's web3 ecosystem as a launchpad for new crypto projects.
