SwishX raises $2.2M seed for agentic AI targeting pharma and MedTech

What's the deal? Bengaluru-based SwishX has raised $2.2 million in seed funding to build what it calls the first agentic AI platform designed exclusively for pharmaceutical and MedTech companies. Investors include Powerhouse Ventures, Blume Ventures, Sadev Ventures, and Atrium Ventures.

The startup's platform aims to modernise commercial operations — sales, marketing, tenders, contracts, and distribution — in industries that still rely heavily on spreadsheets, disconnected software, and manual workflows. SwishX claims its AI agents can improve revenue outcomes by up to 30% through real-time visibility into tenders, hospital contracts, retail sales, and doctor engagement.

Why now? India's pharma sector generates over $65 billion in revenue, and emerging markets combined drive $400 billion. Manufacturing and R&D have matured significantly, but go-to-market operations remain stuck in the past.

"The next big transformation in this industry is not going to happen in the lab. It is going to happen in how these companies go to market," said Dushyant Sapre, founder and chief executive officer of SwishX.

What could go wrong? Pharma and MedTech are notoriously slow to adopt new technology, especially from early-stage startups. Convincing risk-averse enterprises to hand commercial decision-making to AI agents is a steep sell. Regulatory complexity across different markets adds another layer of difficulty.

SwishX is targeting $5 million in contracted annual recurring revenue and more than 100 enterprise customers by the end of FY2026-27 — ambitious numbers for a seed-stage company entering a conservative industry.

The signal: Agentic AI — systems that act autonomously rather than just providing recommendations — is moving from tech buzzword to vertical application. SwishX's bet is that pharma's commercial layer is ripe for this shift, and that emerging markets represent the biggest opportunity.

The company plans to expand into Latin America, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Eastern Europe, regions where pharmaceutical distribution networks are fragmented and operational visibility is weakest. If the model works, it could set a template for how agentic AI penetrates other complex, regulated industries.
