Lifco acquires Italian crane equipment maker Boscaro

What's the deal? Swedish serial acquirer LifcoDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has signed an agreement to buy a majority stake in Boscaro S.r.l., an Italian niche designer and manufacturer of construction equipment and crane attachments. Boscaro, based in Campiglia dei Berici, Italy, reported net sales of approximately €9.5M in 2025 and has 35 employees.

The company will be consolidated into Lifco's Demolition & Tools business area, with consolidation expected in Q2 2026. Lifco said the deal will not significantly affect its earnings or financial position this year.

Why now? Lifco's playbook is straightforward: buy market-leading niche businesses with sustainable earnings growth and strong cash flows. At the end of 2025, the group comprised 275 operating companies across 37 countries, reporting EBITA of SEK 6.3B on net sales of SEK 28.3B — an EBITA margin of 22.4%.

Boscaro fits the mould. It is a small, specialised manufacturer in a defined niche — exactly the kind of target Lifco's decentralised model is built to absorb without heavy integration costs.

What could go wrong? With a majority — not full — stake, Lifco will need to work alongside minority shareholders, which can complicate governance. The deal is also small relative to Lifco's overall size, meaning it won't move the needle on group financials in the near term.

The signal: Lifco's acquisition of Boscaro is another textbook move from the Nordic serial acquirer playbook — targeting a profitable, niche industrial business with €9.5M in sales and leaving it largely autonomous. With 275 operating companies already under its umbrella and a 22.4% EBITA margin, Lifco's decentralised model depends on a steady pipeline of exactly these kinds of small, specialised manufacturers, suggesting the competition among Nordic compounders for quality European industrial targets remains intense.
