Banyan Software acquires UK manufacturing MRP provider Javelin
What's the deal? Banyan Software has acquired Javelin, a UK-based materials requirements planning (MRP) provider serving small and medium-sized manufacturers. Javelin will be folded into Berkeley Myles Solutions, Banyan's existing UK manufacturing software platform.
The Javelin team, including customer-facing staff, will transition with the business. Customers will keep using the product as they do today.
Javelin was originally built within Hexagon AB to handle production planning, inventory management, and compliance for UK manufacturers. As Hexagon shifted its strategic focus, Banyan stepped in to give the product a long-term home.
Why now? Hexagon's evolving priorities made Javelin available at a time when Banyan was already building out its UK manufacturing software presence through Berkeley Myles. The acquisition lets Banyan deepen that footprint without starting from scratch.
"Javelin plays an important role in its customers' operations, and we saw an opportunity to provide a long-term home for both the product and its users," said Claire Rollins, portfolio leader at Banyan Software.
What could go wrong? Any acquisition carries integration risk. Javelin's customers rely on the platform for daily operations — production planning, inventory, compliance — and even minor disruptions could erode trust. Banyan has emphasised continuity, but proving it will take time.
