Stone acquires Ecoservizi Group, lifting revenue to €8M
What's the deal? Stone, an Italian workplace safety training company, has acquired Ecoservizi Group, a consultancy that helps businesses comply with workplace safety regulations. The deal boosts Stone's revenue by 40% to over €8M.
The acquisition was announced at the Mooders Meeting, Stone's event for employees and stakeholders held in San Benedetto del Tronto. The deal was led by Sebastiano Di Diego, chief executive of Imprenditore Smart.
Stone plans to hire 40 professionals by 2027 as part of the integration. "A new management team will emerge within Ecoservizi Group, capable of growing employees through internal training — and it's from within Ecoservizi's ranks that we'll identify future managers," said Ezio Granchelli, Stone's chief executive.
Why now? Workplace safety compliance is a growing market in Italy, where regulations continue to tighten. Acquiring a consultancy like Ecoservizi allows Stone to expand beyond training into broader advisory services, creating a more complete offering for corporate clients.
What could go wrong? Integrating two companies with different cultures and service models is never simple. Stone's ambitious hiring target of 40 new staff by 2027 adds execution risk, especially if revenue growth from the combined entity doesn't materialise as expected.
The signal: The deal reflects a consolidation trend in Europe's fragmented workplace compliance sector. As safety regulations grow more complex, smaller firms are merging to offer end-to-end solutions — combining training, consulting, and regulatory support under one roof. Stone is betting that scale and a unified platform will be its competitive edge.
