Nimlas Group acquires Jönköpings Rörtjänst to strengthen its Swedish expansion
What's the deal? Nimlas Group, a Nordic technical installations company, has acquired Jönköpings Rörtjänst AB, a Swedish HVAC and plumbing firm with around US$6.04M in annual revenue and 20 employees. The deal, completed in May, strengthens Nimlas's presence in the Småland region of southern Sweden.
Jönköpings Rörtjänst was founded in 2008 and serves commercial property owners, industrial companies, construction firms, housing associations, and private customers. It specialises in new installations, service, repairs, and renovation work across heating, ventilation, and plumbing.
Why now? The acquisition fits Nimlas's ambitious "5-50-500" growth strategy — targeting US$604.4M in revenue, 50 new companies, and US$60.4M in profit. The group already unites close to 140 companies and 5,000 professionals across Sweden, Norway, and Finland, with a pro forma turnover of US$1.21B.
"The acquisition is another confirmation of our growth journey. Småland is an exciting region with great potential for us together," said Torbjörn Carlsson, regional manager for southern Sweden at Nimlas.
What could go wrong? Rapid roll-up strategies in fragmented industries carry integration risk. Maintaining the quality and close customer relationships that built Jönköpings Rörtjänst's reputation while folding it into a large group is the central challenge. The founders staying on — Magnus Ehrnström as managing director, with co-founders Joakim Berg and Rickard Berglund continuing as project managers — should help ease the transition.
The signal: Nimlas, owned by private equity firm KLAR Partners, is executing a classic buy-and-build playbook in Nordic technical installations — a fragmented market ripe for consolidation. The sector benefits from steady demand driven by building maintenance, energy-efficiency upgrades, and district heating expansion. Expect more deals like this as Nimlas pushes toward its 50-company target.
