Pine Services Group enters Australia with its 17th acquisition
What's the deal? Pine Services Group, backed by Evergreen, has acquired Australia's Stratus Consulting Group — marking its first move into the Australian market and its 17th acquisition overall. Stratus, founded in 2017, is a mid-market ERP implementation partner that has delivered more than 700 projects across platforms including MYOB Acumatica, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, and Epicor.
The deal expands Pine's geographic footprint to four countries: the US, the UK, Ireland, and Australia.
Why now? Consolidation in the ERP services landscape is accelerating as firms race to build scalable, cross-regional capabilities. Demand for cloud ERP, integration, and optimisation services continues to rise, pushing providers to support customers across multiple markets.
Stratus also brings emerging CRM capabilities through its HubSpot practice, adding a new dimension to Pine's portfolio.
What could go wrong? Cross-border acquisitions carry integration risks — different regulatory environments, customer expectations, and market dynamics. Pine says it runs a decentralised operating model, letting acquired firms keep their brand, leadership, and customer relationships. That preserves local expertise but can make it harder to capture synergies at scale.
Australia's mid-market ERP space is competitive, and Stratus will need continued investment to stand out.
The signal: This deal fits a broader pattern of platform-style roll-ups in IT services, where private equity-backed groups snap up regional specialists to assemble global delivery networks. Pine's focus on English-speaking markets — now spanning four countries — suggests it is building a portfolio tailored to mid-market businesses that want consistent ERP support across geographies.
"Stratus has built an exceptional reputation in the Australian mid-market across MYOB Acumatica, Microsoft, and Epicor," said Lela Day, chief people officer at Pine Services Group. "We're excited to build on their early momentum in HubSpot and expand our reach and relevance to businesses worldwide."
