DuBois & King acquires DeWolfe Engineering Associates

What's the deal? DuBois & King, a 100% employee-owned consulting firm based in Randolph, Vermont, has acquired DeWolfe Engineering Associates, a structural and civil engineering firm in Montpelier. DeWolfe, founded in 1989, will operate as a division of DuBois & King, with president and owner Chris Temple continuing to lead the team.

DuBois & King has 170 professionals and offers services spanning civil, structural, environmental, transportation, renewable energy, and more across the northeast US. DeWolfe specialises in structural and site engineering, including storm drainage, stream hydraulics, and highway design.

Why now? DuBois & King chief executive officer Alan Gould said he and Temple have worked together for over 25 years, and the deal increases capacity while preserving local ownership and management. "This merger makes sense for so many reasons," Gould said.

DeWolfe's clients can expect continuity — the existing team stays in place, now backed by DuBois & King's broader resources.
