Tui Suisse sells cruise specialist Cruisetour to Germany's E-Hoi

What's the deal? Tui Suisse, the Swiss arm of German travel giant Tui Group, is selling its cruise specialist CruisetourDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → to E-Hoi, a German cruise travel group. E-Hoi has acquired all shares in Zurich-based Cruisetour AG and taken on all 13 of its employees. As part of the deal, E-Hoi will become Tui Suisse's central provider for ocean and river cruises under a long-term partnership.

Cruisetour will remain an independent company with its own brand. Existing bookings, offers, and booking channels stay unchanged for customers.

Why now? Tui Suisse says the partnership lets it significantly expand its cruise offering without running the operation in-house. The company's partner travel agencies also stand to benefit: the broader catalogue should drive additional cruise revenue, still handled through Tui Suisse's commission model.

An operational transition phase is now underway, with full implementation planned by spring 2027.

What could go wrong? Integrations like this carry execution risk. Customers and agency partners accustomed to dealing with Cruisetour under the Tui Suisse umbrella may face disruption during the transition, even if the companies promise continuity. Maintaining service quality while shifting ownership and systems over the next year will be the key test.

The signal: The deal illustrates a growing pattern in European travel: large tour operators divesting niche verticals to specialist platforms that can aggregate supply at scale, rather than maintaining costly in-house expertise. For E-Hoi, absorbing an early-growth company like Cruisetour — with an established Zurich team and local agency relationships — is a faster route into the Swiss cruise market than building from scratch.
