Home Depot unit Construction Resources acquires Vitoria International
What's the deal? Construction Resources Company, a subsidiary of The Home Depot, has acquired Vitoria International, a natural stone and quartz distributor serving the Charleston, South Carolina and Savannah, Georgia markets. The deal brings Vitoria's 20-year-old distribution business under Construction Resources' growing surfaces portfolio. Vitoria's leaders, Adriene Araujo and Fabio Venturini, along with their team, will stay on after the acquisition.
Why now? Construction Resources is preparing to open a new Design Center in Charleston later in 2026, making Vitoria a natural partner to supply stone and surfaces for that expansion. The acquisition also fits into a broader push by Construction Resources to consolidate surfaces distribution across the US East Coast, where it already operates UMI Stone, Cancos Tile & Stone, and Opustone.

What could go wrong? Integration is always the risk with roll-up strategies. Vitoria has built its reputation on personalised service and globally sourced stone over two decades. Folding that into a larger corporate structure — ultimately owned by a $400B+ public company — could dilute the brand's appeal to the designers and builders who value that boutique touch.
