MANE acquires savoury flavour specialist Fromatech Ingredients
What's the deal? MANE, the French flavour and fragrance group, has acquired Fromatech Ingredients B.V., a Netherlands-based company specialising in savoury flavour solutions and functional ingredients. The deal, announced on May 6, gives MANE a stronger foothold in high-growth markets — particularly the Middle East and North Africa. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Fromatech serves clients in over 70 countries and is known for its agile organisation and expertise in savoury flavours.
Why now? The Middle East and North Africa represent some of the fastest-growing markets for food ingredients, driven by population growth, urbanisation, and rising demand for processed and flavoured foods. Acquiring Fromatech lets MANE tap into these regions through an established player rather than building from scratch.
The signal: Consolidation in the flavours and fragrances industry continues as major players seek geographic and category expansion through M&A. MANE, a family-owned company celebrating its 150th anniversary, is using acquisitions to bolster its savoury portfolio and extend its reach into emerging markets — a pattern seen across the sector as growth in mature Western markets slows.
