Galantas Gold raises $100M to fund Chile mining projects

What's the deal? Galantas GoldDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Toronto-listed mining company, has completed a $100M private placement to fund its Indiana and Andacollo projects in Chile. The company issued 181.8 million units at $0.55 each, raising gross proceeds of $100,000,450 — including the full exercise of the agents' option.

Canaccord Genuity led the offering as sole bookrunner. Strategic and insider investors participated in about 52.8 million of the units, signalling confidence from those closest to the company.

Why now? The capital is earmarked for developing two Chilean gold projects, with the Andacollo acquisition still requiring shareholder approval. Galantas needed to secure financing ahead of that vote, locking in funds while market conditions and investor appetite allowed.

The company's shares on the OTCQB rose 5.68% on the day of the announcement, suggesting the market viewed the raise favourably. New shares are expected to be admitted to AIM around June 2, 2026.

What could go wrong? The raise comes with meaningful dilution. Post-placement share capital will stand at roughly 734.6 million shares, and an additional 7.3 million compensation warrants could dilute investors further down the line.

Agents collected a cash commission of about $5M — roughly 5% of proceeds. More critically, if the Andacollo acquisition falls through, the board retains discretion to redirect the funds, leaving investors uncertain about how their money might ultimately be deployed.

The signal: A $100M raise for a late-growth gold explorer originally rooted in Northern Ireland — now pivoting to Chilean assets — reflects how elevated gold prices are emboldening junior miners to pursue ambitious, cross-continental expansion. Canaccord Genuity's role as sole bookrunner and the heavy insider participation suggest the deal was well-supported, but with post-placement dilution pushing the share count past 734 million, the market will be watching closely for tangible progress at Indiana and Andacollo to justify the capital.
