Xpress Wellness acquires Wichita mental health practice Midwest Counseling Services

Xpress Wellness, a provider of urgent care, virtual primary care, occupational medicine, and behavioural health across rural and suburban communities, acquired Wichita-based Midwest Counseling Services on April 1, 2026. The deal expands Xpress Wellness' behavioural health footprint in Kansas and adjacent states.
Midwest Counseling Services, founded in 2022, provides mental health care — including talk therapy and individual counselling — to older adults in senior living and long-term care facilities. Its founder, Lisa Harrison, now serves as Xpress Wellness' director of operations of post-acute, overseeing the Kansas market.
Why now? Xpress Wellness already delivers both medical and behavioural care across underserved markets. Acquiring a practice with a proven model for facility-based mental health services gives it a ready-made platform to scale regionally.
