OCS acquires City Group Security to boost UK operations
What's the deal? OCS, the facilities management company, has acquired City Group Security, a nationwide security firm founded in 1993 and ranked among the UK's top 30 security businesses. The deal brings 600 new employees into OCS and increases its operational density across London and the South East.
City Group Security delivers static guarding, canine security, mobile patrols, keyholding, and alarm response. Its self-delivered canine security operation is a notable addition, bringing specialist expertise in-house for OCS.
Why now? OCS has been building out its integrated facilities management offering across the UK. City Group Security's three-decade track record and client base in logistics, local government, education, and utilities gives OCS deeper reach in sectors where site protection and operational reliability are critical.
"City Group Security adds scale and density to our security business, particularly across London and the Southeast, and brings specialist capability we know customers value," said Steven Moore, managing director of security UK at OCS.
The signal: The deal reflects ongoing consolidation in the UK facilities management and security sector, where larger players are snapping up established regional and specialist firms to broaden their service portfolios. For OCS, the acquisition strengthens its position to cross-sell integrated FM services to City Group Security's existing customers — a playbook common among the sector's biggest operators.
