Matterbee builds AI-powered legal practice management software on top of Salesforce, covering everything from client intake and matter management to billing and automation. The funding will go towards product development, AI capabilities, sales, customer success, and expanding its UK market presence.
Why now? The investment follows what Matterbee describes as a period of strong commercial momentum, with growing adoption among UK law firms seeking modern alternatives to legacy practice management systems.
"Law firms are increasingly demanding platforms that can scale with their businesses, adapt quickly to changing operational requirements, and take advantage of the latest advances in artificial intelligence," Evans said.
Grant Ripley, Matterbee's chief executive officer, called the deal "a major milestone" and "a strong endorsement of our vision," adding that Mandashi's experience scaling enterprise software will help accelerate product innovation and growth.
What could go wrong? The UK legaltech market is crowded, and convincing law firms — often cautious adopters of new technology — to swap entrenched systems for a Salesforce-based platform is no small task. Matterbee also faces competition from both established legal software vendors and a growing wave of AI-native startups.
The signal: Matterbee sits at the intersection of two powerful currents — the migration of professional services onto enterprise cloud platforms and the rush to embed AI into industry-specific workflows. As an early-growth-stage company according to Dealroom, Matterbee is still at the beginning of its scaling journey, but a repeat investment from Mandashi suggests genuine commercial traction rather than speculative hype. With UK law firms under increasing pressure to modernise legacy systems, the window for a Salesforce-native challenger is widening fast.
