Dockwa secures strategic growth investment from PSG

Try Dealroom →, a software platform built for the marina industry, has secured a strategic growth investment from PSGDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a growth equity firm focused on software and technology-enabled services. The companies did not disclose the deal's financial terms.
The investment is meant to accelerate Dockwa's expansion from a marina management tool into a full-stack operating system and AI-powered intelligence layer — serving marina operators, insurers, OEMs, and institutional investors across the $57 billion marina economy.
Founded in 2015 as a simple slip-booking tool, Dockwa now serves nearly 4,000 marinas — including 97% of the top 95 US harbours — and more than 450,000 boaters. It handles everything from transient and long-term contracts to payments, fuel point-of-sale, electric metering, and dynamic pricing.
Why now? Boating is one of the last major consumer categories to go digital, and institutional capital has recently discovered the space. Over the past decade, private-equity-backed roll-ups have consolidated thousands of family-owned marinas into professionally managed portfolios, while an older, wealthier, increasingly digital boating consumer has moved online.
Dockwa's proprietary data layer, Marine Graph, has compiled 11 years of transaction history across more than 800,000 boats and 66 million nights booked. That dataset now underpins new AI-native products: Telescope, a dynamic-pricing and revenue-intelligence engine for marinas, and Marina-X, a benchmarking and underwriting layer that gives insurers, lenders, and acquirers the first standardised view of marina performance.
The company also plans to deepen module adoption within its existing operator base and expand into Canada and Europe.
What could go wrong? Dockwa's ambition to become an industry-wide operating system depends on persuading a traditionally analogue sector to adopt increasingly complex digital tools. Expanding internationally adds regulatory and market-fit risk. And while the data moat is substantial, competitors or marina consolidators could build rival platforms as the asset class matures.
The signal: PSG's investment fits its established playbook of backing vertical software platforms at the point where deep workflow penetration and proprietary data unlock AI-driven upsell — a pattern it has repeated across dozens of sector-specific SaaS businesses. For Dockwa, still classified as an early-growth company on Dealroom, the bet is that controlling 97% of the top US harbours and 66 million nights of booking history creates a data moat wide enough to support entirely new revenue lines in insurance, lending, and dynamic pricing — turning a marina management tool into the infrastructure layer for an institutionalising asset class.
