Try Dealroom →, a Harrogate-based building maintenance firm, has secured a six-figure investment to fund a five-year plan to double its turnover. The capital comes from the Northern Powerhouse Investment FundDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → II (NPIF II) — FW CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → Debt Finance, marking the third time since 2020 that FW Capital has backed the company.

The firm plans to use the funds to hire new staff, invest in local apprenticeships, and meet growing regional demand. Robinsons specialises in hard facilities management — keeping commercial buildings compliant across heating, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety systems.

Why now? The company just wrapped a five-year plan that tripled its size. Last year, it acquired Bensons Gas Engineering, adding 400 client sites and pushing its portfolio past 1,500 commercial properties across Yorkshire and the North of England.

"As compliance requirements become more complex, property managers and building owners are increasingly looking for a partner they can rely on to take full responsibility," said Luke Kitchen, managing director at Robinsons Facilities Services.

The signal: FW Capital's decision to back Robinsons for a third time since 2020 underscores a repeat-investor pattern common in regional debt finance, where fund managers double down on proven operators rather than sourcing new deal flow. With NPIF II deploying £660 million to accelerate northern SMEs, the facilities management sector — driven by tightening building compliance rules — offers exactly the kind of steady, regulation-underpinned demand that de-risks lending to mature businesses like Robinsons.
