Amperesand secures $30M Series A extension, bringing total to $110M

What's the deal? Amperesand, a Singapore-based power grid infrastructure startup, has secured an additional $30M from new and existing investors. The funding comes on top of the $80M Series A the company raised in November 2025, bringing its total Series A haul to $110M.

Xora InnovationDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, Temasek's venture arm, co-led the earlier $12.45M seed round and participated in the Series A. N47Dealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → is also listed among the investors.

Why now? Power grid infrastructure is becoming a critical bottleneck across Southeast Asia as the region's energy demand surges — driven by data centre buildouts, electrification, and the energy transition. Amperesand appears to be capitalising on that momentum with rapid back-to-back fundraises.

What could go wrong? Grid infrastructure projects are capital-intensive, long-cycle businesses that depend heavily on regulatory approvals and government contracts. Execution risk is high, and scaling across multiple markets with different regulatory frameworks adds complexity.

The signal: Amperesand's novel solid-state transformer (SST) technology positions it at the hardware layer of grid modernisation — a space where few startups operate at scale. The involvement of Xora Innovation from the seed stage through to the Series A underscores institutional confidence that next-generation power delivery infrastructure, not just software, will be essential to meeting Southeast Asia's surging electricity demand.
