Aliencell raises tens of millions CNY angel round for consumer laser engraving

What's the deal? Chinese startup AliencellDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → (元引科技), a consumer laser engraving brand, has closed an angel round worth tens of millions of yuan. Legend StarDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → led the round, with Infinity CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → following. Zhuofeng Capital served as exclusive financial adviser. The funds will go toward R&D, mass production, team expansion, and global market rollout.

Founded in late 2024, Aliencell's team hails from Chitubox (创必得科技), a leading 3D printing software company that serves millions of users worldwide. The team brings over a decade of experience building maker tools.

Why now? The global consumer laser engraving market topped $1.2B in 2025 and is expected to reach $1.5–1.8B in 2026. The broader laser engraving market is projected to hit $4.09B that same year, with consumer devices claiming a growing share.

Laser engravers were long confined to factories and workshops — expensive, bulky, and complex. Falling costs, maturing tech, and AI-powered software are now pulling these machines into homes, classrooms, and small creative studios.

Aliencell's debut product, the X1, launched in February after 15 months of development. It claims 3–5x faster processing speeds than conventional machines and uses a proprietary AI-plus-vision algorithm the company calls "True-to-Result," designed to deliver what-you-see-is-what-you-get output and lower the barrier for non-expert users.

What could go wrong? The consumer laser engraving space is getting crowded. Established players like xToolDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and Ortur already have strong footholds, brand recognition, and distribution networks. Aliencell will need to prove it can convert maker-community buzz into sustained global sales — and do so before the angel funding runs out.

Safety and regulatory hurdles also loom. Consumer laser products face strict compliance requirements in key markets like the US and EU, which can slow international expansion.

The signal: Legend Star, the early-stage arm of Lenovo's Legend Holdings, leading this angel round underscores growing institutional interest in Chinese desktop manufacturing startups targeting global maker communities. With Creality's recent Hong Kong listing validating the consumer 3D printing playbook, investors appear to be making an adjacent bet that laser engraving — a market the source projects will grow 25–50% in 2026 alone — can follow a similar trajectory from niche tool to mainstream creative hardware.
